Hey! As you may know, I started blogging at the very end of 2016. I intend to blog for as long as I can, so I have a few goals for this year. I wanted to make just a super quick list, so keep reading!
1. Make my blog more popular! I get 10 views per post at the most, so I intend to make my blog more popular!
2. Interact and befriend other preppy bloggers! I have not yet really befriended any bloggers, but I have made some small talk on Instagram. I want to try to make some friends in the preppy blogging world.
3. Get more Instagram, Pinterest, and Bloglovin' followers!
4. Post more on Instagram!
5. Post more on my blog! So far, I have been trying to schedule posts every Saturday, but it hasn't been working out the best. Sometimes I don't finish posts in time, and then there is no blog post that week, or posts are very randomly posted. I plan on scheduling every post for Saturdays at 6:00 AM.
6. Redesign my blog. Right now, it looks pretty bad, to be honest. I really want to spend a lot more time on making it look nicer and more professional. I also plan on using some of my HTML skills to make it look better!
6. Interact with my followers! I haven't really been able to do this as of now, but I really want to! Please email me at kate.rose821@gmail.com if you would like to contact me about my blog, or if you just want to talk and be friends!
I hope you guys enjoyed! I know this was a super quick post, but I did post earlier this week. I intend to meet all of these goals in 2017, and I hope you guys can help me achieve them!
Love y'all!
xoxo Kate

5 Tips for Traveling
Hey, y'all! I don't know about you, but I love traveling. I have been traveling ever since I was 10 months old. I have picked up a couple tips ad tricks over the years, so here you go!
1. Use packing cubes!
Packing cubes are so amazing! They help you compress the clothes that you pack so that you have more room for even more clothes! I have always had the struggle where I would have to sit on my suitcase and struggle to pull the zipper closed. But, ever since I discovered packing cubes, I have never had to deal with that anymore! It's amazing because personally, I am an over packer. I bring almost a week's worth of extra outfits. Packing cubes help me pack and keep my clothes organized instead of thrown around in my suitcase.
I got my packing cubes here. (I have the wine red color)
2. Roll your clothes!
This tip kinda goes hand-in-hand with the last one. When you roll your clothes, it uses almost half the amount of space as folding would. Paired with packing cubes, you will have so much extra space in your suitcase! If you do not know how to roll your clothes, you can find a video on Youtube. Another perk to rolling your clothes is that it will help ensure your clothes are not wrinkly when you get to your destination.
3. Use a brightly colored suitcase
Have you ever struggled with finding your suitcase after your flight, when every other suitcase looks the exact same? That's where a brightly colored suitcase comes in handy! It is very rare that a bunch of people will have the same suitcase, so you can find your luggage quick, and leave the airport as soon as possible. Also, in general, I would advise you to avoid using a black suitcase, just because most people have black suitcases, and you may struggle to find yours.
I got my suitcase from here.
4. Bring snacks and an empty water bottle
Water bottles and snacks past TSA are super expensive. I always pack a couple granola bars with an empty water bottle. Make sure not to fill the water bottle, because you will have to empty it at security, anyways. Snacks are just smart to have in case you get hungry before or after your flight. Some flights have complimentary snacks on board, but if your flight doesn't you definitely will want some for the long flight. Also, you can always find a water fountain to fill your water bottle with.
5. Wear comfy clothes!
I have made the mistake countless times of trying to be cute when traveling. Just don't even try. Your gonna be at an airport and inside of an airplane for hours, so try to dress as comfortable as possible. I suggest a sweatshirt, leggings, and maybe a hat. If you are going somewhere cold to hot, bring a tank top or t-shirt and shorts to change into after the flight, and vice versa if you are going somewhere hot to cold.
Thank you, and I hope you use these tips next time you are traveling! I hope you guys like these tip-type of posts, because they are super fun to make! If you have a request for a post, please go to my request a post page!
Love you all!

Christmas Eve OOTD
I'm gonna start by saying... How in the heck is it already Christmas?! December has gone by so fast, I can't even believe it! This year, in the words of Kylie Jenner, is a year of "realizing stuff". I won't go into all of that because that is a REALLY long story. But, other stuff, is that I started this blog! I know barely anybody reads it, but I'm fine with that.
Anyways, let's get on with the OOTD!
I really wish I could have uploaded pictures... Because I'll be honest, I looked really cute today! But since my camera decided to be dumb today and refused to upload to my computer, we will have to stick with Polyvore for now! (Follow me on Polyvore here)
Every Christmas Eve, we go out and visit all of our cousins and go to Church! Here is the outfit that I wore today! xoxo
(I couldn't find all of the exact clothing and accessories, but I found the closest ones that I could!)
See you next week!

Inexpensive Alternatives for Popular Preppy Clothes and Accessories
I have been wanting to make a post on this ever since I saw duck boots at my local Target. I saw them, and they were literally half the price of the ever-so-popular LL Bean Boots. I then began to think, and I realized many other stores have similar "dupes" like this. So, I decided to share those dupes with all of you!
Keep reading to see some of my favorite inexpensive dupes!
1. LL Bean Boots ($119) vs. Target Duck Boots ($49.99)
The resemblance of these two is uncanny. Not to mention, the Target boots feel like they are such good quality! Unfortunately, I was not able to buy them, but I did try them on in store and they were so comfortable! If you have been thinking of getting the LL Bean Boots, but you aren't prepared to pay the price, I highly recommend the ones at Target!
2. J. Crew Vest ($120) vs. JCPenney Vest ($44)
When I was in JCPenney and I saw this vest, I actually screamed. It looks EXACTLY like this vest from J. Crew! Even the pockets look the same! This is honestly one of my favorite dupes on this list because of how similar they are. From,, head to toe, from the gold detailing to the pockets in the front, this is the best dupe I think I have ever found!
The final dupe is not my favorite, but it is still very good if you are on a budget! The Target boots are still very good quality, but unfortunately they do not have the same details, such as a name on the front, or buckles. But, if you do not want to splurge on Hunter boots, because I know they are expensive, this dupe will do perfectly for you!
I hope you enjoyed all of these dupes! If you want future posts like this, but with new items, leave a comment, or fill out a request form!
See you next week!

How to be Preppy on a Budget
A common misconception about being preppy is that you have to spend thousands upon thousands on clothes. But, this doesn't have to be true. In this post, I am going to show you how you can be preppy without breaking the bank.
1. Shop sales and discounts
One of the easiest methods to getting preppy on a budget, is shopping sales and discounts. There are some sites, such as Lilly Pulitzer, that have huge sales twice a year. Lilly Pulitzer calls this their "After Party Sale". They hold this sale twice a year, during January and August. Many other sites, such as Vineyard Vines, has clothes on sale regularly. All you have to do is check back on sites like these frequently to find any clothes that you like, for most of the time, they sell out quickly.
2. Shop at factory and outlet shops
Another easy method to be preppy on a budget, is factory and outlet stores. J. Crew Factory and Nordstrom Rack are some of my favorite factory/outlet stores. Other stores that have outlet and factory stores are Vineyard Vines, Gap, Nike, Ralph Lauren and AĆ©ropostale. I also recommend searching online for a store near you, or an outlet mall near you. The nearest outlet mall close to me is half an hour away, but I'm sure you can find one closer to you!
3. Shop at cheaper stores
You may think that in order to be preppy, everything must be from Nordstrom, Vineyard Vines, Lilly Pulitzer, or Ralph Lauren. But, you are wrong. More inexpensive stores such as Target, JcPenney, H&M, and Forever 21 can have cheap alternatives to popular preppy clothes. I plan on making a separate post on this in the future, but many stores, including Target, have "dupes" for clothes that is very popular for preps. I have seen duck boots, vests, shep shirts, and more. But, like I said earlier, I will make a separate post on this in the future.
4. Thrift stores
My final tip is to shop at thrift stores. You may be thinking, "Ah! Used clothes!" or, "But thrift stores have worn out clothes" or even, "Thrift shops are dirty and smell weird!" Okay, I'll be honest... Some thrift stores do smell a bit funky, but that does not mean that any of the clothes is dirty. Also, think about it like this; would you rather buy a $100 brand new shirt, or a $5 slightly worn shirt? If you are anything near realistic, I'm sure you would choose the latter. Almost 99% of the stuff that I find at thrift stores is good quality as well, so don't use that as an excuse. If you have never tried it before, I recommend going thrifting at least once, before deciding you don't like it.
So, I hope you enjoyed! I have been looking for a full in-depth post about this for a while, so I decided to write my own! Remember, if you have any post requests, fill out this form!
See you later!

My Holiday Wish List for 2016
Hiya! This is my very first blog post, and I am so excited! I have been reading a blog called Live the Prep Life for about 4 months now, and it had inspired me to create a blog of my own! I know that as of now, my blog is pretty cheesy-looking, and pretty basic. But, I really want jazz it up a bit in the future!
Anyways, back on topic, my holiday wish list! These are all things that I am hoping to get during the holidays this year! Although I will probably not get everything, I would be happy with at least a couple of these items! This also can be a gift guide for any preppy girl.
Keep reading for my wish list!
1. Vineyard Vines Shep Shirt
Believe it or not, I have never owned a Vineyard Vines shep shirt! I have always seen them, but since they are so expensive, I have never bought one. This year, I think that I am finally ready for one! I especially love how these shirts look layered over a button-down blouse!
2. J. Crew Vest
Vests are so cute and trendy this year, I just couldn't resist putting this one on my wish list! The only vest that I own as of now is an old, worn-out black Target vest that I got last year. This white one from J. Crew Factory is so cute, I just love it!
3. Lilly Pulitzer Popover
Lilly Pulitzer is honestly one of my favorite clothing brands of all time! Everything they make is so cute, and such good quality! That is the reason I want this popover. Not to mention, the pattern is so cute! It looks like it would be perfect just to slip on on a day where I just don't feel like trying.
4. Polaroid Camera
I have wanted a Polaroid camera for so long, but I have always thought that it was kind of a waste of money. But, now I think that not only could I take cute pictures for Instagram, I could also put it on display on a shelf in my room. Although, if you are on a budget, you probably shouldn't get a Polaroid, to be honest.
I hope you enjoyed my first blog post! It was so fun to write! If you have any advice, questions, requests for posts, etc., please visit my Contact Me page!
